Woman in Kaski died when a rivulet swept her away

Pokhara: A woman of Machhapuchhre rural municipality-1 in Kaski died when a flood-fed rivulet swept her away. Ward Chairperson Birendra Gurung informed that the Khahare rivulet took away 40-year-old Leeladevi Pariyar of Tuse at around 8.30 pm last night.

Locals and police found her body some 25 meters down from the incident site. A police team from Ghachowk had taken out the dead body from the rivulet and affidavit related work of the incident is to be undertaken today, said Spokesperson of the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Subas Hamal.

Police said investigation is being undertaken into the incident. The water level has soared in the rivers and rivulets of the district due to incessant rainfall since a couple of days.
