Two killed, two missing in separate incidents

Kathmandu: Two people have died while two have gone missing in separate incidents in three districts in the last 24 hours.

In Bhaktapur, a 10-year-old boy drowned in a puddle at Tathali of Changunarayan municipality-9 yesterday. The body of Rojan, son of Raju Machhe, who had gone missing since around 11am on Friday, was found in the puddle at the BM Brick Kiln, police said.

The brick kiln had dug the soil to make brick forming a pit. This pit got filled with rainwater turning into puddle.
In Dhading, two persons have been missing after a landslide buried a dozer while constructing a road at Adakhola of Sertung in the northern belt of Dhading district.

They were constructing a portion of the Dhadingbesi-Tipling road. Those missing in the incident are the dozer driver, Raju Parajuli of Sindhupalchok district and Jojo Tamang of Rubibhyali rural municipality, Dhading district, police said.

In Mahottari, a media person serving with Gaushala-based Radio Juntara in Rautahat died in a road accident. Arjun Kushwaha, 30, of Isworpur municipality-13, Sarlahi died on Friday evening.

Media person Kushwaha died on the spot when a speeding tipper from opposite direction knocked him at Haripurwa municipality-8 while he was on the way to home from radio station on a motorbike (Ja 7 Pa 9072), informed his radio co-worker Narendra Mahato.

According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, Kushwaha died on the spot when the tipper hit his motorbike from back while he was trying to avoid a mound of sand on the road side.

Irate locals had set the tipper on fire immediately after the Friday evening incident. The situation had come to normalcy after the police took the tipper and its driver under control.

Issuing a condolence message today, FNJ Mahottari Chapter chair Kamalesh Mandal demanded maximum actions against the tipper driver after fair investigation and compensation to the family of the deceased.
