Tourism entrepreneurs in Lake City demands for vaccination

Bijay Nepal, Pokhara: Tourism entrepreneurs have staged a peaceful sit-in in front of the district administration office on Monday morning carrying placards with various slogans demanding vaccination. They had gathered at Lakeside’s Ambot and  marched to the CDO office at Shahid Chowk.

Even in the midst of the lockdown, a large entrepreneur staged a two-hour sit-in at the CDO office, which seemed new to everyone. Entrepreneurs participating in the sit-in protest, led by the Pokhara Tourism Council, an umbrella organization of tourism-related organizations, complained that they could not run their businesses without vaccinations.

Council Chairman Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai said, “Vaccines should be available to the public within the responsibility of the government.” Now the tourism sector cannot move forward without vaccines. This is our one-stop demand – no vaccines, no tourism. ‘

A memorandum has been handed over to the Prime Minister through the Chief District Officer led by Council Chairman Bhattarai demanding to bring tourism-friendly program for the revival of tourism business.

First of all, the government has demanded in a memorandum to make vaccination compulsory to make the tourism business and other businesses operational.
