It is customary for Gurung communities to celebrate this festival on the last Tuesday of Shrawan and Chaitra of Nepali month. Today is last Tuesday of Shrawan.
According to Gurung language ‘Toh’ means village/settlement and ‘Te’ means to chase enemy.
It is believed that by celebrating this festival, evils will be eliminated, natural disasters will be reduced, crops will be better, and happiness will be achieved.
