Students padlocked school in Siraha for not paying salary to teachers

Siraha, Feb 25 : Students have locked up Janata Secondary School in Laxmipur Patari Rural Municipality-5 Kharukyahi of Siraha demanding to provide salary to the teacher.

The students have locked their own school  and ward office since past 3 days  saying the teachers have not been paid their salary since last one year.


Ansu Yadav, a class 10 student, said that four teachers working in private quota have stopped teaching students so supporting their demand they have padlocked the school

Shiva Narayan Yadav, a teacher working in the school from private sources, said that the school has not paid them for a long time. Meanwhile, the acting principal of the school, Arun Kumar Yadav, complained that there was no response to his repeated written requests to the Rural Municipality regarding the teacher’s salary.

Ward Chairman of Laxmipur Patari-5, Mahendra Sah, said that coordination was being held with the  on the issue of paying salaries to teachers and that the teachers would be paid soon. More than 800 students are studying in the school where classes 1 to 10 are being taught.
