Six injured in gang fight in Tanahu jail, police denied the jail incident

Sabin Lamichhane, Tanahu, Feb  28: Six jail birds have been injured in a clash between two groups of inmates at Tanahu District Jail on Sunday. The clash was occurred in the issue of the jailbird’s monitor.

Kul Bahadur Tamang, Anup Thapa, Madhav Kandel, Dhan Bahadur Shahi, Deepak Darji and Gyan Bahadur Bik were injured in the clash.

Two of the injured have sustained head injuries while others have sustained minor injuries. A few months ago, a group of prisoners transferred from Kathmandu attacked them, said one of the injured.

The injured have been returned to the jail after treatment at Damauli Hospital. According to a source, discussions are underway between the Chief District Officer, Superintendent of Police and the prison administration regarding the incident.

Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Tanahu, Yuvaraj Timalsena said that there was no incident in the jail.
