School building dilapidated: Students compelled to study on ground

Myagdi. The Lulang Basic School in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-2 is compelled to teach students in open ground.

The school building in Lulang, the largest Dalit settlement in the district, which is geographically remote and inaccessible, has been demolished and dilapidated.

Principal, Nagendra Thakur of the school said that there was a problem in study as the two-room building collapsed and another four-room building became dilapidated.

Students’ bags, books, copies get wet. There are 235 students in the school running up to class 8. It is the school with the highest number of students in the village municipality.

“The wall of the 6th and 7th class building collapsed last September,” he said. The school building and the gabion wall built to protect the playground have also been demolished.
