Ruling parties agreed to hold local election in April

Kathmandu: The ruling parties have agreed to hold local election in late April. A meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday morning to discuss the upcoming local elections.

After the discussion, government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed the media that they had agreed to hold the election on time.

He said that the meeting will be held again on Thursday after doing more homework on the issue. As the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers will also be held on Thursday, it is estimated that a date can be fixed from that meeting.

The election commission suggested to held election on April 27 and May 5.
