Pokhara: The Nepal School Staff Council has continued its sit-in protest at the Education Development and Coordination Unit through out the country.

The Kaski chapter of the council has also continued the sit-in at the Education Development and Coordination Unit at Bagar in Pokhara since Sunday.

The protest, which lasts for 6 days, is being held from 10 am to 4 pm.

If the demand is not met, they have warned that  they will go on a four-day relay fast in Kathmandu and close govt. schools across Nepal from June 17.

Accountants and office assistants, who have been working in public schools for a long time, have been forced to continue working with discrimination and low wages by the government.

Nepal School Staff Council Kaski President and Gandaki Province Coordinator Harishchandra Bastola said that despite the fact that the service facilities of the employees working in public schools will be addressed in the point 127 of the federal government’s policy and program, there was an agitation after it was not addressed in the budget.

If the demand is not met, they have warned that  they will go on a four-day relay fast in Kathmandu in Bhadrakali and close community schools across Nepal from June 17.
