Prohibitory order extended till May 27 in Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu, May 13: A prohibitory order imposed in the districts of the Kathmandu Valley has been extended till May 27.

A meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur took a decision to extend the ongoing prohibitory order till May 27 midnight.

Prior to this, the prohibitory order was issued on April 29 for a week and was again extended a week beginning May 5.

As issued in the order, groceries will remain open till 10:00 am. Similarly, people’s mobility has been restricted except for essential services while public and private transportation is also halted till then.
However, vehicles carrying essential goods and services, health workers and security personnel, and ambulances would be exempted from the prohibitory order.

Furthermore, wedding ceremony, Bratabandha and such other functions in hotels and party palaces have been restricted while presence of more than 10 persons is prohibited even if such functions are organised at the private residence.

Likewise, all offices except the essential ones are asked to close from today itself. Similarly, the institutions providing essential services should run their offices from limited number of officials.
