Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba won vote of confidence

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has received a vote of confidence. There were 165 votes in favor of Deuba and 83 against. 249 MPs were present in the parliament. One remained neutral.

A majority in the 272-member House of Representatives requires 136 votes. Deuba was voted by 61 Congress, 48 ​​UCPN-M, 32 JSP, 24 UML and one Janamorcha MP.

Eight lawmakers from KP Sharma Oli’s party have also crossed the floor. Prem Ale, who was the Forest Minister in the KP Oli government, and Krishna Kumar Shrestha of Tanahun have given a vote of confidence to Deuba.

Hira KC, Parvati Bisunkhe, Kalila Khatun, Bina Thapa Magar, Dhan Bahadur Budha and Samima Hussain have voted for the Prime Minister. All of them were on Oli’s side before. With a vote of confidence, Prime Minister Deuba will now be able to run for the rest of his term.
