Omicron: Govt imposed travel ban for foreigners from 9 nations Reporter

Kathmandu: The government has decided not to allow passengers from nine countries, including Africa, to enter Nepal from today. A meeting of the Council of Ministers on November 29 decided not to allow entry to Nepal from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Malawi and Hong Kong.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has informed that it has decided not to allow to entry to Nepal from 12 noon tonight.

In view of the fact that the new variant of COVID-19 Omicron, which appeared in African countries a few days ago, is gradually spreading in Europe and Asia, Nepal has decided to take timely precautions to prevent the new variant from entering the country.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Council of Ministers, the government has directed to make it compulsory to provide vaccine to at least 200,000 people every day as per the commitment of the government to provide free Covid-19 vaccine to all citizens.
