Nine ‘A’ side veteran football match kicks off in Pokhara

Pokhara. A nine-a-side veteran football tournament organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Gandaki has started in Pokhara from Friday.

The four-day tournament was inaugurated at Pokhara Stadium by Netranath Adhikari, Speaker of Gandaki Province. Players in the age group of 40 to 60 years are participating in the competition. Each team has mandatory participation of 2 players above 50 years of age. According to the organizers, veteran teams from Pokhara, Kathmandu, Hetauda, ​​Waling and other cities are competing in the competition.

The winner will receive Rs 300,000 in cash and the runner-up Rs 150,000. Similarly, the two semi-finalist teams will get Rs 30,000 in cash, the best player will get Rs 20,000 in cash and the best five players will get Rs 15,000 in cash, said competition coordinator Dil Bahadur Gurung.
