Nepal’s Ajit Kumar Yadav has won the gold medal in the third Asian Youth Athletics Championship in Hong Kong. Ajit Kumar completed the 3,000-meter race clocking eight minutes and 30.32 seconds .
He is associated with the Armed Police Force ( APF) club. First runner-up Amit Jangir of India completed the race in eight minutes and 36.34 seconds while Gamil al- Hamati of Yemen finished it in eight minutes and 38.60 seconds to win the bronze, the National Sports Council (NSC) said.
China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, Iran , South Korea, host Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Bhutan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Macao, Maldives, Philippines, Vietnam, Qatar are also taking part in the championship.
Three of the five people, who died after a passenger bus heading towards Kathmandu from Kakarvitta of Jhapa met with an accident and fell into the Trishuli river this morning, have been identified. Of them four died on the spot while one died on the way to hospital, police said.
