Kathmandu, The Bibeksheel Sajha Party has said its serious attention has been drawn to the latest media reports of massive overcharging by medical colleges.
In a press statement today, the party said the policy of rapid commercialization in the sector of service-oriented sectors like education and health continued to hit guardians and students. It has drawn the attention of the government towards taking action against those colleges involved in overcharging students.
Besides, it had sought the refund of the additional fees colleges raised from students. Stern measures are required so that no medical college could charge students in excess to the ceiling.
More, the party demanded the government to make the required legal provisions to ensure people’s easy and just access to basic social services like education and health.
Three of the five people, who died after a passenger bus heading towards Kathmandu from Kakarvitta of Jhapa met with an accident and fell into the Trishuli river this morning, have been identified. Of them four died on the spot while one died on the way to hospital, police said.
