Locals established COVID ‘hospital’ in Annapurna village

Pokhara, May 6 : A five-bed Covid Hospital has been established in Annapurna rurak municipality of Kaski.

The hospital has been brought into operation from Tuesday in the building of Digo Mahila Bikash Savings and Loan Cooperative at Dhikurpokhari.

For the treatment of the patient in the hospital, 2 Anami will work 24 hours for health treatment.

Chairman Yuvraj Kunwar said that the hospital was built using the health workers and resources available in the municipality. Similarly, an initiative is being taken to mobilize additional resources including oxygen plant, said Kunwar.

There are currently 7 active corona infections in the rural municipality. They are living in home isolation. Rishi Ram Poudel, health coordinator of the village municipality, said that the infection has spread to Annapurna Ward 1 and 2. Out of the total 19 infected people in the municipality, 12 have already recovered.

The rural municipality has also made arrangements to buy medicine for other chronic patients from Pokhara and deliver it to the concerned person’s house.
