Pokhara: Teknath Baral, a human rights activist and leftist intellectual, has passed away.

Eighty four year old Teknath who was the founding chairman of the National Heritage and People’s Rights Protection Committee Nepal, died today during treatment in Manipal Teaching Hospital.

Having spent a long time in the teaching profession, he was active in the field of human rights.

He was survived by wife, son and 3 daughters.
