Kathmandu, July 1 : Lawmaker Gyan Kumari Chhantyal passed away this morning at the age of 66.
Nepali Congress Baglung constituency 2 president Dron Kunwar confirmed the passing away of the leader amidst treatment in Kathmandu.

She had been long suffering from heart disease and was admitted to the Kathmandu-based Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre, Bansbari for around a month.

The PR member in the parliament from the Nepali Congress, Chhantyal had been elected to the second Constituent Assembly from the Baglung constituency 3.

Meanwhile a session of the National Assembly (NA) today unanimously endorsed the condolence motion on the demise of House of Representatives (HoR) member Gyan Kumari Chhantyal.

NA Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina presented the motion before the meeting. The Upper House also observed a moment of silence, mourning the passing away of the lawmaker. Expressing deep sorrow over the demise of Chhantyal, the meeting extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family
