Surkhet, April 14 : Karnali Chief Minister, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi is preparing to take a vote of confidence in the province assembly on Friday.
He wrote a letter to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat requesting to make necessary arrangements for the purpose of taking a vote of confidence in accordance with Article 188 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
After the CPN-UML withdrew its earlier support to the CPN (Maoist Center) -led state government in the Karnali state assembly, Chief Minister Shahi was forced to take a vote of confidence.
A meeting of the UML parliamentary party had withdrawn its support to the province government on March 18.
A vote of confidence must be taken within 30 days of a party withdrawing its support to a chief minister appointed with the support of two or more parties. That deadline is ending Friday.
