Gandaki State: Nepali Congress and Janamorcha says no to Dashain allowance

Pokhara, Oct. 21: Parliamentarians representing Nepali Congress and Janamorcha party in Gandaki State have decided to return Dashain allowances. Saying it is immoral to take allowance during pandemic, both the parties have decided to return the amount.

According to the parliamentarian of Nepali Congress, Prakash Chandra Dawadi, they have decided to return the allowances as per the decision made from the party’s meeting. “We have already received the amount in accounts so within few days our parliamentarians will deposit the money in Corona Fund set up by government.”- he added.

There are 15 people including 11 parliamentarians representing the party who have got RS 8,00,080 in total. Each parliamentarian has got RS 52,000 as an allowance.

Meanwhile Mayanath Adhikari of Nepal Communist Party said that they have no knowledge either the allowances have been deposited or not in their accounts. “We didn’t ask to deposit the allowances but if it has been deposit then we will discuss about it.”-he added.
