Pokhara, May 28: Lawmakers at the meeting of the State Assembly here have stressed on self-reliant economy.
Taking part on the discussions of Appropriation Bill tabled by the Internal Affairs and Planning Minister Kiran Gurung on Wednesday, lawmakers said the government needs to adopt measures to strengthen economy. Upcoming budget should pay attention to it, they added.
They argued that it was tough to restore economy to normal state anytime soon because the country has been adversely affected due to COVID-19 outbreak.
Their priority was on agricultural production, health schemes and employment generating bids in the State. Lawmakers Dhananjay Dawadi, Prakash Chandra Dawadi, Khim Bikram Shahi, Dhanamaya Pokharel, Bindu Kumar Thapa, Juna Devi Nepali, Bishnu Lamichhane, Piyari Thapa among others had put forth their views.
