Jhapa, Dec.4: A fire broke out at the Namaste Ply Industry at Chaitubari of Birtamod-2 in Jhapa district this morning gutted property worth Rs 3 million.
The inferno started due to a short circuit, Deputy Superintendent at the District Police Office Jhapa, Rakesh Thapa said. The Industry is operated by local Hom Prasad Ghimire.
A joint team of the Area Police Office Anarmani, the Province No. 1 Disaster Management Company Chandragadhi and the Armed Police Force Base Camp Sanischare was mobilized immediately after information of the inferno was reported to the police.
The fire was brought under control through joint efforts of security personnel and locals and with the help of fire engines brought from Damak, Bhadrapur and Birtamod.
