Pokhara: At present, the production of cucumber is very high in Suinkhet of Hemja, Pokhara. But farmers are in trouble as cucumbers do not gain  a fair price.

Farmers are selling cucumber at Rs 5 to 10 per kg. The local farmer, Ganga Baral Adhikari complained that the risk of not getting even the invested amount has increased. 

Cucumbers were sold between Rs 20 to 30 per kg in the beginning. Now  there is no one to buy it even at Rs 5.  Many farmers are seen waiting in the Pokhara-Baglung highway area of ​​Suinkhet to sell cucumbers.

Some have rotted in the fields and farmers have even started feeding the livestock. More than 100 household farmers have cultivated cucumber at a cost of 200 ropanis.
