Kathmandu, July 5: The country witnessed 293 new cases of coronavirus infection on Sunday, the officials confirmed.
At a daily media briefing on COVID-19, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwor Gautam said that 293 individuals tested positive for coronavirus in the test carried out at 25 labs across the nation in the past 24 hours. He added that the PCR tests of 4,710 people were carried out in past 24 hours.
With this, the number of coronavirus infected people reached 15,784 in the country.
Dr Gautam also shared that altogether 132 COVID-19 infected people were discharged from different hospitals in the past 24 hours across the country.
So far, the number of people recovering the coronavirus infection crossed 6,540. He said that the recovery rate in the country is 41.5 per cent among the infected ones.
According to the Ministry, a total of 9203 coronavirus infected people are in isolation across the country adding that Mahottari, Rautahat, Palpa, Achham, Kailali and Bajura districts have more than 500 cases each of coronavirus infection.
