Country records 2,918 new cases of COVID-19 in 24 hrs

Kathmandu: A total of 2,918 new cases of COVID-19 infection were registered from 14,819 tests including 9,438 RT-PCR and 5,381 antigen tests in the country in the past 24 hours.

According to Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 5,147 infected patients have recovered in the same period in the country. So far 536,252 infected patients recovered from COVID-19 in Nepal.
Kathmandu district witnessed 396 new cases while 145 in Lalitpur and 66 in Bhaktapur, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The Ministry confirmed that 53 new deaths caused by the virus infection were recorded in the past 24 hours across the country. With this, the total death toll due to COVID-19 reached 8,465 in Nepal.
It is said that there are 65,804 reported active cases of virus infection in the country.
