Corona vaccination for senior citizens in the second phase

Kathmandu, March 6 : Under the second phase of the vaccination campaign, senior citizens above 65 years of age will be vaccinated against Corona virus.

Earlier, it was said that senior citizens above 55 years of age would be vaccinated but the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, said that senior citizens above 65 years of age would be vaccinated.


According to him, the senior citizens above 65 years of age will be vaccinated on the basis of vaccine availability. He said that senior citizens above 55 years of age would be vaccinated in the Himalayan district.

The second phase of the vaccination campaign is being conducted from March 7. The vaccination campaign will run for 20 days. The government has promised to buy 2 million doses of covishield vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India, but has so far brought 1 million doses.

The health directorate of the concerned province will be set up to vaccinate the chief minister, ministers, members of the provincial assembly and the employees of the provincial offices.
