Chief Minister Gurung resigns ahead of a no confidence vote

Pokhara, May 9: Gandaki Province Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has resigned. He resigned before province chief Sita Kumari Poudel on Sunday evening.

Nepali Congress and  Maoist Center  have filed no-confidence motions against him.  There was a voting program  scheduled for tomorrow in province assembly.


Prithvi, who became the chief minister with the support of the Maoist  and Jana Morcha, was in the minority state after they withdrew their support to the government.
