Bajura: A magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit Bajura on Tuesday afternoon at 2:43 PM, so far 42 families have been completely displaced.
Those families from three rural municipalities were displaced by the earthquake. Surya Bahadur Thapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office informed that 12 families from Himali Rural Municipality, 15 from Gaumul Rural Municipality and 15 from Badimalika Municipality were displaced by the earthquake.
According to the District Police Office, nearly 400 houses were damaged due to the earthquake.
According to the details of the damage collected by the police, the biggest damage took in Malika Municipality.
DSP Thapa said that 21 houses were completely damaged in Badimalika, three in Budhinanda and one in Budhiganga, 19 in Himalaya, 11 in Gaumul, four in Khaptad Chededah and one in Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality. 31 houses in Badimalika, nine in Budhinanda, nine in Himalaya, five in Khaptad Chededah and five in Gaumul have been partially damaged.
