Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Pokhara: After 23 years in Pokhara, the Newari community is going to hold Baagh Jatra (Tiger Festival). The organizing committee of the Bagh Jatra gave this information at a press conference.

The jatra will be held on September 4, 5 and 6  for three days and will be organized at various places in Pokhara.

This jatra, which started more than one hundred years ago, is now in an endangered state. Last time, Baagh Jatra was held  for three days in 2000 AD and could not be held after that.

It is believed that in ancient times, wild animals such as tiger started to attack people.  Then  people went to the king demanding security. The king killed the tiger with the help of soldiers and made the people happy.

The same story is tried to be narrated in Baagh Jatra where the tiger, king, queen, security guards, prime minister will march in city.
