Myagdi, May 15: Farmers in Myagdi worried after the army started destroying the newly grown maize crop.
Khadga Bahadur Thapa, a farmer of Bagarphant in Beni Municipality-2 said that the army worm started destroying both the stalks and leaves of the maize.
Farmer Thapa said that maize was destroyed by army insects in a field of 400 ropanis of Bagarphant.
Farmers have complained that diseases and pests could not be controlled by using home-made organic medicines as there is no environment to buy medicines in the market due to corona.
However, Govinda Raj Koirala, head of the Agriculture Knowledge Center, Myagdi, said that the farmers have not formally complained about the issue.
