3 died, 7 injured in Gulmi jeep accident

Gulmi, Feb 18: Three people were killed and 7 people have been injured in a jeep accident at Resunga in Gulmi district on Wednesday evening.

The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1988) heading to Paralmi from the district headquarters Tamghas met with an accident at around 6 pm on Wednesday.


The deceased have been identified as Goma Nepali, 27, Shanti Nepali, 28, and Ekraj Pokhrel, 48, of Thulopadhenra in Resunga-14.

According to the District Police Office, Gulmi, two of them died on the spot while another succumbed to their injuries at Gulmi Hospital. Two of the injured have been referred to Palpa while five others are undergoing treatment at Gulmi Hospital. Jeep driver Bharat Pokhrel is also injured.

The two passengers of the jeep managed to escape by jumping. Gulmi Deputy Superintendent of Police Purushottam Pandey said that the jeep may have slipped due to the unpaved road and rain.
