Kathmandu, June 5:  The government has rescued a total of 168 Nepalese from United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday. Likewise, a dead body was also carried in the plane.

Nepali migrant workers in emergency situation and those stranded were repatriated.  Director and Spokesperson at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) of Civil Aviation Office Dev Chandra Karn said Air Arabia’s ABI-1751 landed at 6:00 pm Friday by bringing 168 Nepalis from UAE.

The government is bringing in Nepalis stranded on the basis of priority in coordination with the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC).

Those arriving home from UAE are 46 of State No. 1, 23 of State No. 2, 37 of Bagmati State, 23 each of Gandaki State and State No. 5, four of Karnali State and 12 of Sudurpaschim State.

Nepal Army’s Spokesperson Bigyan Dev Pandey said that those all rescued Nepali migrant workers are kept in designated Holding Centres set up in different banquets in Kathmandu valley.

Those from Bagmati, Gandaki and State No. 5 have been kept in the Holding Centres of Kathmandu while the rescued migrants of State No. 1 and 2 are kept in Bhaktapur.

Similarly, the people from Karnali and Sudurpaschim are housed in different Holding Centers of Lalitpur.

Upon completion of their stay in the Holding Centres, they would be sent to their respective districts and kept in quarantine facilities or under self-quarantine.
